Jackson Memorial Free Tickets Got Underway

More than 500,000 Michael Jackson fans from around the world applied for 17,500 Michael Jackson's public memorial service free tickets next week, organizers said on Friday as a massive security operation got underway.

Officials on Friday unveiled an ambitious online lottery that will allow Michael Jackson fans to attend either the televised service at the Staples Center or watch the proceedings on a big screen at the nearby Nokia Theater.

The life and music of Michael Jackson, who died of sudden cardiac arrest last Thursday, will be celebrated on Tuesday at the Staples Center, Los Angeles. Michael Jackson's last performance was also at the LA's basketball arena. The night before he died, Michael Jackson rehearsed for the This Is It tour at the venue.
